Just a short note written by a lawyer in Colorado.
Hello Again...
Because I practice criminal defense in Boulder, Colorado, most of the people I try to help through the criminal justice system are white folks.
Yet all the stories I write about this month are about black folks. People of color in my state, as throughout the United States, disproportionally get into trouble with the cops and the courts, the deeper the color the deeper the trouble.
Every candidate for President of the United States swears he or she is going to do something about that disproportionate treatment in our justice system.
I wish just one of them were telling the truth.
